To kick off this joyous return to the interwebs, I'll be posting about a style challenge. Not like "ohemgee, competition" challenge, a challenge in that I never knew what do with something I bought. For me that was a sequin skirt. I bought for homecoming, which was easy: throw a shirt, some heels, out the door. But, outside of wearing it in the evening, I thought this skirt was destined to get pretty cozy with the inside of my drawer.
But alas! That skirt was conquered! (...) Here are pics because this did happen.
I was tryna be a J. Crew model. But, basically, I tried to ground the sequins with a cozy sweater and balance homey with something more eye-catching. I also opted to go monochromatic -- gray sequins, gray sweater, black tights, black-ish scarf -- which also helped to ground the sequins. This could have gone horribly wrong if I wore a bright shirt with this skirt because that would have definitely made it look like I just never went home after a wild night on the town (senior year, make it count...YOLO).
Aside from that, while taking the pictures for this post, I decided to give y'all a blast from the past. I'm so MySpace. I just had a lot of time on my hands.
